Bangladesh Organization for Disabled Advancement (BODA) is one of the fore-runner national NGOs working in the field of disability. BODA's Policy regarding disabilities is often dominated by the notion of "equalization of opportunities, rights and empowerment", which means that society must employ its resources in such a way that every individual, including persons with disabilities, has an equal opportunity to participate in society. It believes in creating an inclusive and barrier free soceity for all people with disabilities in the country through the promotion of equal rights and opportunities and ensure participation of persons with disabilities into mainstream development.
Since its inception on 25 December of 1993, BODA is active to eliminate sufferings of persons with disabilities based on society's prejudice and ignorance and apt to ensure equality, socio-economic and cultural independence and participation in decisionmaking process. |
